“No one in our community should feel alone in their time of need.”
Get to know Kiira Churchill, recently named Combined Community Services’ new Executive Director and read her vision for CCS:
Tell us about your family:
I married my high school sweetheart and this June we will be celebrating 15 wonderful years of marriage. We have three amazing children and a small zoo of pets that keep our home lively and full of love!
How long have you lived in Kosciusko County?
I was born and raised in Kosciusko County, and this community has always been home to me. The county has given me so much in opportunity, and I am excited to give back to the place that has shaped me into who I am today.
What roles have you served in prior to this and how have they equipped you for this role?
Before stepping into this role, I was given the opportunity to serve as the Director of Communications at Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. Their buildings are filled with amazing people, and I learned so much about the public education system while helping elevate awareness of all the incredible things happening there.
Prior to that, I served as the Director of Development at Combined Community Services, where I helped shape donor development and fundraising strategies. Both of these experiences gave me invaluable insight into community engagement, relationship-building, and nonprofit sustainability, all of which have prepared me to lead CCS into its next chapter.
Why did you want to take on the Executive Director role?
I took on this role because I believe in the mission of CCS and the power of community-driven change. Helping people overcome challenges and build better futures is something I am deeply passionate about. I saw an opportunity to lead, grow, and elevate the work being done here, and I am honored to be part of this incredible journey.
What would you like to say about the team at CCS?
The team at CCS is nothing short of amazing. Their dedication, compassion, and hard work inspire me every day. Each person here is committed to making a difference, and it’s truly a privilege to work alongside such a passionate and driven group of individuals. I’m incredibly grateful for their commitment to our mission and the impact they have on our community.
What is your vision for CCS in the near future and the next year?
My vision for CCS is to continue expanding our reach and deepening our impact. In the next year, I hope to strengthen partnerships with local businesses, increase community involvement, and enhance our programs to provide even more sustainable support for families. We want to ensure that no one in our community feels alone in their time of need.
How can our community support the work at CCS?
There are so many ways to support CCS! Donations—both financial and in-kind—are always a huge help, but so is volunteering your time. Spreading awareness of what we do and advocating for our mission is another powerful way to contribute. Every effort, big or small, helps us continue providing critical services to those who need them most.
Why should our community support the work at CCS?
CCS is more than just a nonprofit—we are a lifeline for families in crisis and a resource for those working toward stability. By supporting CCS, you’re directly impacting the lives of your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members. When we come together to lift others up, we create a stronger, more connected community for everyone.
